Google Instant and SEO

We have probably heard by now - Google launched their new 'Instant Search'
thingamajig. Some are claiming that now SEO is dead, or radically changed.

Others are getting ready to sell products based on lies about Google instant. Try and be extra careful against anyone looking to get in your wallet under the pretext of Google Instant.
So here's my take on it - that can hopefully save you a lot of time and money.

What is Google Instant Search?
Nothing fancy - it is just a 'search as you type' addition. So Google searches and shows results as you type without having to hit 'enter'.

This changes nothing, except making searching a little more annoying, and distracting. Essentially, if you're searching for "Dogs ", as you type it out, at 'd', Google will assume you're looking for a dictionary.
At 'dr', it assumes you're looking for 'Drake' and show results for the word 'Drake', as if you were searching for 'Drake'.

But since I'm looking for 'drug', if I type in Dogs, the results are the same as before.

So what does this all mean?
Ans - Nothing new in particular. You will still rank for the same keywords you ranked for before. If you did your keyword research right, this will make very little difference to your sites and traffic.
This is particularly the case if you're shooting for long-tail keywords or keywords that are considered popular by Google.

Conclusion:
Google instant ONLY changes how the results are delivered, not how the sites are ranked, so this is not exactly even related to SEO. Of course, there'll be all sorts of hoopla about this because that's what this industry runs on - lots of hype and unnecessary chaos over little things that don't even matter in the long run.

Think of it this way - a pizza company might change the cars they deliver their pizza in, but they're still making the exact same pizza.

I know some will disagree with this assessment of mine because they've already been reading about how we'll need to start doing 'letter SEO'
and what not.

Remember, Google cares about delivering RELEVANT results to the user, and Instant doesn't do that - instant just speeds up everything. But when I'm looking for 'Dumbo the elephant', the results for 'd', 'du'
or whatever are simply NOT relevant.

More than anything, I think this will be a good feature for smart phones and mobile search - for standard computers, it's just an annoying change.

Google Instant

Google Instant is a new feature in the search engine enhancing the search method, At press event at San Francisco's Museum of Modern Art, Marisa Mayer, Google's vice president of user experience said about Google instant : "as you type, not after you type"

Google instant predicts the keyword you are searching based on majority keywords searched by people , it shows you the result as before you finish your keyword typing ,so search will be faster and you can save 2 -6 second of page reload, by typing the keyword you can see the result instantly
Before Google instant the normal search time takes about 20 to 80 second to type longtail keyword but now Google instant understand what you are trying to search in smart way, globally it saves about 11 hours of searching every day.

If you are searching for this " how to cook fish" as a keyword you just type " how " then It will predict the next word, then once how type "c " it will auto complete " cook" then "fish" at the same way, if you have a problem with spelling, specially for long word with Google instant your problem will be solved as its gives you’re the suggestion for your keyword.
Google instant based on Ajax application as its used in Gmail and some other Google Apps. This technology requires the new generations of browsers: Safari v5 for Mac, Firefox v3, Internet Explorer v8 and Chrome v5/6. The technology used for Google instant that allows it to run without making slow browsing even if your connection is slow it will not affect the service is available only for desktops it's not available on mobile yet it will be soon released

Google always trying to make the search easy, as well it makes internet is easy too, so thanks to Google for providing Google instant.
